Description

Succulent shrimp steamed in spiced beer.  An excellent main course or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 24 oz beer
  • 2 bay leaves, dried
  • 1 T mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 1⁄2 t cayenne pepper (or to taste)
  • 2 t sea salt or kosher salt
  • 2 lemon, cut into slices
  • 1 q water
  • 3 lb shrimp, unpeeled
  • 1⁄4 c fresh parsley, coarsely chopped

Instructions

In a stock pot, combine first seven ingredients. Stir, then cover and bring to a boil.  Add shrimp. Reduce heat.  Simmer for approximately 5 minutes, covered, or until shrimp turn pink.  Serve shrimp topped with fresh, chopped parsley, to taste.
