This painting was based on photographs I took at the 2007 and 2008 Chuckwagon Cook-off held in San Gabriel Park, Georgetown. It is being recreated as a banner for this year’s Chisholm Trail celebration. Afterwards, the banner will be on permanent display in the new East View High School, Georgetown, Texas. Note: The original painting is currently available. Please contact me regarding prints.
Vittoria Regia was exhibited in the juried 2008 Fall Art Hop, sponsored by Georgetown Art Works. It depicts Amazonian lillypads found in Brazil. The subject matter was proposed by my daughter, Victoria, and is based on photographs taken by my sister-in-law and her husband who spend their summers in Sao Paolo. The name of this plant and that of my daughter is a coincidence.
My late husband, Jeff Fuller, was an avid photographer. He took a photo of an old silo while we enjoyed a rare snowstorm in Williamsburg, Virginia. This painting pays homage to that scene.
This painting was done from a picture of my daughter as we left the 2008 Red Poppy Festival in Georgetown, Texas. She was carrying a red balloon and was forlorn about going home, because of the wonderful time our family had together. The landscape is of our southern fenceline in Schulenburg. Cotton-candy clouds appear often in that area. The two images seemed like a perfect match. It is an honor that others agreed and are using this artwork for their advertising campaign.
